Embracing the Spirit of Christmas: Supporting Communities
Lutheran Disability Services is seeking your support in connecting people with disability to experience meaningful connections and community spirit, to help bring joy for all this Christmas.
If you would like to support us in our mission, here are some quick ways that you can help. You can pray for our mission, and ask God to bless our mission of delivering faith, empowerment, fun, and excellence to people living with disability. You can also make a donation, special offering, volunteer your time, or help build our network. This Christmas, we are focused on building meaningful connections and experiences for vulnerable people in our community.
As Christmas approaches, the air is filled with excitement and anticipation. Christmas is a time of joy, reflection, and togetherness—a season that encourages us to come together, celebrate our connections, and share the spirit of giving. At Lutheran Disability Services (LDS), we understand the profound impact this time of year can have, not only on our clients but on the entire community.
Last year, we had a wonderful Christmas party celebrated by our amazing clients, their family members, and support workers. It was truly heart-warming to witness friends connecting, see the joy on their faces as they unwrapped gifts, and dance along to the music and song. We were blessed to be joined by Bethlehem Choir for the pre-dinner entertainment, followed by a nativity play by our clients.
In 2023, we had the wonderful LLL sponsor our event to help contribute to these costs of putting on a successful event. We thank them again for their kind contribution. We are seeking expressions of interest for other interested parties to sponsor our event this year. Get in touch here.
The Meaning of Christmas…
Christmas is more than just a festive holiday and celebrating the birth of Jesus with the wider community; it’s a celebration of love, compassion, and hope.
