Annual Client Christmas Party

On December 7th, we held our Annual Christmas Party for clients, family members and staff. It was a wonderful evening seeing our LDS community gather to celebrate the year and Christmas festivities together. Those who played roles in the nativity play all did a fantastic job.

Every year many of our clients look forward to joining in our annual Nativity Play held at our Christmas Party.

At LDS one of our values is FUN! We have an ongoing fun saying within our community as Peter year after year enjoys playing the role of the “Star” in the nativity play that leads the Shepherds and Wisemen to baby Jesus. We like to say that Peter is the ‘Star of the show’… and he sure is a star! See him pictured here with his starry shirt:

Peter’s housemate Stephen also loves to get involved in the Nativity play. We see him dressed as a Wise Man in this picture here. Stephen wasn’t quite sure which character to play at first, but staff and him joked back and forth that he would make a great wise man, because he is.

He chose out of all the options available which colour costume he would like and the bottle gift to give to Baby Jesus. Stephen then joked asking if we there was any coffee in the bottle… which brought on some laughs, as we know that Stephen really enjoys his coffees.

Another LDS client, Tracey, has been part of the Nativity Play since 2011 when she joined our LDS community. Each year without fail Tracey volunteers to play the role of King Herod! Bruce, her fiancé, joins her as one of the Wise Men. We love that clients enjoy taking ownership of these roles and come back year after year to play their roles with such enthusiasm.

Tracey and Bruce also enjoyed the opportunity to speak on the microphone, and wished our community Christmas blessings this year at our party. Thank you Tracey and Bruce.

We were also blessed to be joined by the Bethlehem Choir each year, who lead us in Christmas Carols. It was a fun shared time to hear so many clients, families and staff singing together!

Special thanks to the Client Services team for putting on the event and to all the staff who attended. Thank you to LLL Australia for sponsoring the event, the Bethlehem Choir for leading the carols, Pastor Andrew Brook for saying grace and to all the families and clients who attended.

Some of our clients even helped our Client Services team with making decorations in a miniture christmas tree decorating workshop, which looked lovely as table toppers on the night. We are very grateful for all our clients and community for contributing and participating in our much beloved event of the year. We are very much looking forward to doing it all over again in 2025!
